This is a prototype trek planner for the Alpine Pass Route. You can choose to plan a route from East to West (Sargans to Montreux) or in the opposite direction from West to East. Then for each section, you can click the icons to [Skip] that section, hike that section and [continue], hike the section and then [sleep], or hike the section and then get public [transport]. Accommodation and transport are not available at every section, but you can choose how far you want to walk each day, where to break up your journey and where to travel home. The corresponding distances, climbs and descents are shown on the right. By default it shows just one of the countless possible suggestions — feel free to just do a day or two, do the whole thing in one go, or combine several weekend trips.
The approximate coordinates given for each trip can be pasted into GpsPrune, for example.

DisclaimerAll the numbers given here are approximate and subject to various errors - use as a guide but at your own risk! Also this route isn't exactly the same as the one described in the section pages as the official route has changed since then. In particular, the route shown on this page takes quite a different route west of Lenk, going via Gstaad, Château-d'Oex and Rochers de Naye. |
