This simple application tests vocabulary knowledge by asking ten random questions. Each question is multiple choice with one correct answer and two wrong ones. For each of the ten questions, the direction is random (either the translation of an english word or the meaning of a foreign one) and the two wrong answers are chosen at random from words of the same category. For example if the correct answer is a verb, the other two alternatives will also be verbs.
The test is written using HTML and javascript, and is fairly browser-independent as long as javascript is running. At the moment the test is available in German, in Polish or in Welsh (Cymraeg).
The test text is in English, but it asks questions in both directions, ie "What's the German word for ....?" and also "What does .... mean?".
The same as above but for the Polish language. Again you get questions in both directions, ie "What's the Polish word for ....?" and also "What does .... mean?".
Once again, the same but for the Welsh language. Again you get questions in both directions, but there's an extra feature here - the vocabulary is split into three groups, so you can start off with the "easy" version, with a smaller number of words, and once you're comfortable with that then you can proceed to the medium and advanced versions.
